Kirtan & Heartsongs at Samhain - DUBLIN - Thursday 30th October
“When you start to crack open,
Don’t waste a moment gathering your old Self up into something like you knew before.
Let your new Self splash like sunlight into every dark place, and laugh and cry & make sounds you never made, & thank all that is holy for the gift.
Because now you have no choice but to let all your love spill out into the world”.
-Brian Andreas
Come & Sing & Chant your little hearts out in prayer, in community and in longing as we approach Samhain, the end of the Celtic calendar year.
Kirtan is a form of call & response community chanting, the magic of which lies in the opportunity it provides us to connect with the underlying currents of longing that live beneath all of our actions & spoken intentions - even beyond the limitation of language itself.
The Yoga tradition speaks of longing as the key to the unity we seek - the ability to honour the deepest driving desires that live beneath the surface of what we share with our voice, and most importantly - the experience of harmonizing our voice with a room full of other voices, all seeking and longing for the same thing.
Canfaimid as Gaeilge, i mBéarla agus i Sanskrit ~ we’ll sing in Irish, English, and Sanskrit, honouring the traditions which have kept the spark of divinity and a connection to the sacred alive in the sounds and syllables of their words.
I’ll be joined by Ryan, Caoimhín, Nitin, and Leá on the night so bring your friends, your hearts & your voices for a beautiful evening of song & prayer.
Tickets €25
Bring something to sit on, water and an open heart :)
*Please note - Parking can be tricky at the Fumbally, your best bet is to park down the laneway on the street, so leave yourself enough time to make that happen!
