Kirtan is a form of call & response chanting where we bring voice, meditation & community together in one full and complete devotional practice.
We'll chant and sing in Sanskrit, Irish and English, as a way to honour the patterns of awareness that support us moving towards a greater sense of liberation and connection both within and without.
Join Jenny and Tyrell for this special candlelit evening of Kirtan chanting at Potadóir - bring your friends, loved ones, babies, hearts and voices!

The connective tissue between what we long for and the actual experience of it lies in our daily, repeated rituals and actions, our willingness to feel, and the degree to which we can be with the grief and beauty of the in-between.
Devotion, so, can be understood less as an act of losing oneself to promises of a vague, distant, inherited characterization of God - but as the trust we place in the wisdom of regular, repeated action in service to something larger than ourselves, understanding that this ’something larger’ lives in our Direct experience of the innate, singular, self-organizing intelligence behind all of life.
What you call that intelligence is up to you, and She goes by many names.
In Kirtan, (as in T*ntra), we chant to the distance between us and that sense of connection & wholeness. We chant to the empty places, the grief, the longing; but also to the deep joy and fullfillment that symbolizes momentary relief from the heartache. We don’t turn away from any experience - instead including it as part of the vast, wild & wonderful tapestry that helps us come deeper into relationship with Life.
Navigating the terrain with a sense of skillful discernment, cultivating a relationship to what IS as it continually changes, whilst finding the medicine of the moment without trying to shape or force it in any way. When we meet reality from that perspective, necessary change can happen naturally - and it also happens much faster, because it’s being met with a sense of acceptance instead of force or agression.
These practices have fundamentally shifted my entire perception on life, and there’s nothing I love more than sharing song, mantra and meditation with you all.
I can’t wait to do it again in Dublin on the 25th!
I’ll be joined by Tyrell, Ryan, and Léa, so it’s going to be a wonderful evening.
Bring your friends!
**Please note: I have raised the price to €28 in order to be able to offer the other musicians a fee for their time and skills, as well as pay for the venue hire (not cheap in Dublin these days!) I really hope this will not discourage those of you who are regular participants!

Tongue ~ TEANGA
Join me in this 3-part, bilingual series of somatic journeys into the origin & organs of language, exploring the way in which our bodies and the cultivation of somatic awareness can support the remembrance of our mother tongue.
An teanga i mo bhéal
The tongue in my mouth
Shapes sounds that become language
Guttural, palatal, raw expressions of truths & inner experiences that live in bodies & hearts, once again sensing & shaping themselves into mirrors of the land.
Ag aithint an náire a mhaireann ann
Recognizing the shame that lives there, as a precursor to attempting to ‘learn’ anything, we must first give space to the bodies’ held experiences and associations with speaking, voicing, expressing, as well as understanding and being misunderstood.
Through accessing the soma, the soft, felt-sense experience of the body, we can begin to shift how we experience the necessary ‘not-knowing’ that comes with reclaiming a language, and drop instead into the space of deep listening in which the words live.
Of Song & Soma - 5-part online series of practices Explore the landscape of the body through song, somatic asana, yoga & mantra.
Drop into a felt-sense experience of the body through yoga asana, somatic movement and devotional sound.
From body, to breath, to voice, to Source - these weekly sessions will help you begin the process of coming into relationship with the landscape of your body - your first and original Home. From there, dropping into resonance with your breath and voice to find the notes to trace the songlines of your edges, we'll culminate in a kirtan (chanting) practice.
Drawing from the fields of somatics, non-dual tantric teachings of Kashmir Shaivism and the beauty, devotion and reverence of Bhakti Yoga, Jenny will weave and offer practices from an inquiry-based perspective. The invitation is to bring a journal, colours and/or any other tools you might use to express creatively for integration at the end.
€75 for all 5 sessions
